Homeward Bound

Here we are in the elevator at MSA Hospital on our way home...scary elevator that shakes a lot. I would like to take this opportunity to let you all know that the "if you have two more kids than he will be Malcolm in the middle" joke has been used four times within the first day of his life. Its a good one but no more...you are all cut off.

Sabrina was a little weirded out by Malcolm at first but in a good way. She eventually mustered up enough courage to poke his nose and finally to kiss him.

Happy Birthday!

...To our new baby, Malcolm Dobson Reid, born at 4:57 this morning. He weighed in at 8lb 4oz, 20 inches long, and very cute! Pictures to follow soon (or check the link to his proud grandparents' blog - they've had a bit more time to spend in front of the computer today!)

Progress?

Saw the midwife yesterday - she says the baby is coming today.... that's her guess, anyways. Hope she's right! I'm 3-4 cm dilated, she could touch the baby's head - looks promising. Last night contractions sort of started, very mild and irregular, and this morning since 5 am they've been every 10 minutes or so, getting stronger, so......maybe today will be the day. It's a beautiful day here, so maybe we'll go for a walk soon to try to speed things up. We'll keep you posted.

Sisters

I thought this was a very sweet sister moment - the girls were watching a show while they waited for me to clean up lunch and put them down for their nap, but apparently I took a little too long for Sabrina! Olivia is such a good big sister. Speaking of which, we are now in the last week before the due date (unfortunately, our babies care nothing for due dates - the girls both waited for two extra weeks before making their appearances), so all we can be sure of is that we'll have a baby within a month!.....please let it be sooner....

I thought since people were actually checking this site, I better put something interesting on it - so, since nothing interesting is going on, here's a picture of the girls (always good space filler!)
