Random Things
We took this family picture the day of Malcolm's dedication, but I don't think I've posted it yet. We were amazingly coordinated - and it wasn't even planned. I dressed the girls the same on purpose, but everyone else just chose things that matched (except for Dobby's shorts...can't be perfect, I guess). This is my latest cake creation....it's Grandpa George. I don't actually have a Grandpa George, but Becky does, and she asked if I would make a cake for his 80th birthday. Greg drew a picture of him for me, and this is the result. Looks like a nice old man, I think.
And the girls in their "Dance recital outfits". Olivia likes to pretend that she is Sabrina's dance teacher, and yesterday they had their year-end recital. They are a butterfly and a jellyfish....wearing necklaces, of course.

Where is everyone?
What do you see in this picture? Just an empty living room, right? And why is that remarkable? It's remarkable because this picture was taken at 1:30 on Wednesday afternoon, when I had 5 children under the age of 5 in my care. They all slept at the same time... what a great thing! These are the 5 kids that fill my house on Mondays and Wednesdays - Jared, my nephew Noah, and my own three. As you can see, Olivia helps out a lot with entertaining the younger ones.

Growing Up
Malcolm has had a few new experiences in the last couple of days. First, he tried some rice cereal! He has been looking longingly at everything we ate for weeks now, so we finally gave in and let him have his own food. He loved it! He looks so tiny sitting in the big high chair, after we're used to seeing Sabrina in there, but she has moved into the booster seat at the table, and Olivia has moved to a "grown-up chair." Promotions all around! Then Malcolm finally got his own room ! YAY! We've been waiting to convert our spare room into a play room, because we've had lots of company this summer, but now we took the bed out, moved the toys in, and Malcolm got the old toy room as his bedroom. It's a tiny room, but it's perfect for a baby. It was Sabrina's room before the girls moved in together, but luckily I didn't paint it too girly then - it's blue, with clouds and balloons. He's got a brand new dresser from Ikea, his bed, and the change table in there, and it's full! He had a great sleep in there last night, and it's so nice not to have his bed taking up half of our bedroom anymore.
