Flower Girl

Olivia was the flower girl for her biggest cousin, Adam's, wedding in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan, on the long weekend. I'll post pictures of the rest of the trip later, but these had to have an entry all their own. She was so beautiful, and she got about a million compliments on her dress all day long. Adam and Rachelle picked and purchased the dress for her, and it fit perfectly (good thing because she only tried it on two days before the wedding!). She did a great job - if anyone needs lessons on how to walk sloooooooowly down an aisle, give Olivia a call. Hey, she knows how to draw out her moment in the spotlight! She couldn't stop dancing after the reception - her sister and brother were so done with the day, so we had to drag her out at 10:30, or she probably would have kept dancing all night.  Posted by Picasa

Moo!

Sabrina has had a runny nose for a few days now, and it is getting raw and sore from all the wiping and blowing (she is an amazing nose-blower, by the way - I am impressed every time she does it, because when I was her age, and also much older, I was afraid to blow my nose for fear that something valuable would come flying out...and sadly Olivia has inherited that fear from me.). So today as she was whining about her nose, I asked if she wanted some medicine on it. She declined, but pointed at her knee, where she had a bandaid from yesterday's mishap. "You want a bandaid for your nose?" I asked. "Yes" ........ she left it on all day, right up till bathtime. Very hard to take a person seriously, even a two-year-old, when they have a cow bandaid stuck on their face. Posted by Picasa

We're Back

So, we've got our new computer up and running, and a couple of new pictures to post. The girls found Grandma's new pots very interesting... of course, they are not pots, they are a teacup ride. The funny thing is, I have no idea how they know what a teacup ride is - it's not like they've been to Disneyland or anything. Oh, well, in any case, their teacup ride is now full of dirt and flowers. Here we have Olivia's storytime. Notice her attentive listener - she can rarely get Sabrina to sit still long enough to get through a whole book, so she's loving this captive audience. And of course, he loves it too, so everybody wins!
This is a picture that the girls insisted I take this morning. The kids are all getting their pictures done on Saturday, so we've been talking about sitting still, sitting close together and smiling, etc,etc... so this morning we had to capture the wonderful pose and smiles of ladybug rock and Spinnaker the dolphin. Yes, they are exemplary models, I can only hope the kids' picture turns out so well.

Technical Difficulties

For those of you who check this blog regularly (if there are any of you), just an explanation of why there have been no new posts for a while. Our computer is fried, so we have just bought a new one, and are waiting for the guys to program it (or some such thing...I know nothing about computers). Anyways, it will be ready on Tuesday, so we can have some new pictures posted then. (I'm writing this entry on my parents' computer.) So, there you go...check back on Wednesday!
